About:

Sam joined PeakSpan Capital in March 2026 as the New York Office Manager and Executive Assistant. She supports both the firm’s leadership and the broader office, with a strong focus on precision, exceptional service, and high-impact execution. Originally from Michigan, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Sam’s background in finance and tech is grounded in a hospitality-first mindset that shapes how she approaches relationships and operational support. She thrives in collaborative environments and is motivated by contributing to a positive, high-performing culture that drives firm-wide success. Outside of the office, Sam is a first-degree black belt in mixed martial arts and an avid collector of classic rock vinyl.

What makes you excited to come to work each day at this stage of your career?

I’m thrilled to support and be a part of a team that values integrity, respect, and innovation. I look forward to coming into the New York office each day—it’s a warm, dynamic environment filled with hardworking, genuine people aligned around a shared goal. I’m consistently drawn to both the people and the work itself—a team that is passionate, dedicated, and committed to making a meaningful impact.

Why is PeakSpan the right place for you to do your best work?

PeakSpan feels like the right place to do my best work because the environment here allows me to truly take ownership. There's a culture of trust and agency — individuals are empowered to lead their work with confidence, and the team comes together to push each other forward and make the whole stronger. The opportunity to ensure the people I support have everything they need to operate at their best is deeply fulfilling, and being surrounded by thoughtful, driven, and passionate teammates makes it easy to show up fully and execute at a high level every day.

What personal experience most shaped how you approach your work today?

Working on the opening team of a hotel and a private, platinum-ranked club early in my career most shaped how I approach my work today. Those experiences taught me the importance of anticipating needs, communicating with intention, and going beyond simply completing tasks to delivering a thoughtful, high-quality experience. I carry that hospitality-first mindset into everything I do — whether I'm supporting a senior leader, managing the office, or navigating a high-pressure moment — because I believe how you make people feel is just as important as the work itself.

If someone worked closely with you for a year, what would they say you’re especially good at?

If someone worked closely with me for a year, they would say I lead with empathy, have a keen eye for detail, and a strong ability to anticipate needs before they arise. Those qualities shape how I read a room — knowing when to step in and solve a problem quietly or when to bring people together to work through something as a team. I'm reliable in a way that builds trust quickly; people know that if something is in my hands, it's handled.
