About:

Eavan received her BSE in biomedical engineering with a minor in economics from Duke, where she discovered early on that she wanted to build a career investing in healthcare-related technologies, leading her to her first summer at PeakSpan. During this internship, she quickly realized the B2B SaaS world was vast, ever-evolving, and incredibly exciting. After returning for a second summer and eventually joining full-time in 2024, Eavan has worked across the Digital Health, Supply Chain, and FinTech teams, learning something new every day from the talented people in the network and portfolio companies. She loves working out of the New York office but always appreciates trips to the office out west to see her family in the Bay Area.

What makes you excited to come to work each day at this stage of your career?

The people. While the deals I'm working on change constantly and the challenges our portfolio companies face evolve, the people at PeakSpan are consistently what make each day exciting. It's rare to find senior colleagues who keep their doors open the way mine do, whether I'm working through a challenge, testing an idea, or simply asking questions. That openness creates a massive learning opportunity every single day, and it's why I knew early on that this was the right place to start my career.

What’s a project or moment at PeakSpan where your involvement changed a company’s trajectory?

Within our supply chain practice, I've helped connect portfolio companies with strategic advisors from our PEC, including some who were recruited specifically to lend their experience to those businesses. In several cases, those connections have led both directly and indirectly to enterprise deals being signed, meaningfully moving the needle on performance for these companies. I've also completed research projects for companies exploring adjacent market segments, running industry calls and delivering findings that helped them decide whether to build new products.

Why was PeakSpan the right place for you to do your best work?

The exposure I get as a junior team member here is truly unique in the investing world. Rather than sourcing all day, every day, I've already had opportunities to work across the full investment lifecycle: research and thesis development, critical due diligence, consulting-type projects for portfolio companies, and analyzing exit opportunities with our strategic development team. That breadth has been invaluable in informing my perspective as an investor.

What personal experience most shaped how you work with founders today?

As a junior team member, the best thing I can offer founders is my time and effort. Of course, strategy discussions at board meetings matter, but what really sets us apart is rolling up our sleeves and taking work off their plates. My engineering background taught me how to grind through hard problems, often on my own, and sometimes that meant making sacrifices to get the work done. That experience shaped how I approach my job now: putting my head down and getting it done for our founders.
