Brooks joined PeakSpan in 2025 after interning at the firm the previous summer. Prior to PeakSpan, he interned with the Technology Policy Institute working on AI policy research and cielo24, an early-stage software startup. Brooks graduated from the University of North Carolina (Go Heels!) with a major in Economics and minors in Business Administration and History. At UNC, he was a member of the Venture Capital Club, Undergraduate Financial Society, and Poker Club. In his free time, Brooks enjoys trail running, skiing, live music, poker, and sports of any kind.
No two days at PeakSpan are the same. Each day, there is a new question to answer, problem to solve, or initiative to tackle. As someone who is still in the early days of their career, this maximizes the opportunity for me to learn the skills and mindset required to be an investor—especially when I get to do so surrounded by some of the best in the industry.
Assisting the PorchPass team in building their Credit Union partnerships. My role consisted primarily of writing outreach to 150+ of the largest credit unions in the U.S. for the company to expand their book of forward flow partners for loan origination.
The level of mentorship at PeakSpan made it the no-brainer for where to start my career. No matter the level of seniority, every team member is committed to the development of their peers and demonstrates this on a daily basis—regardless of the stakes of the task at hand.
Reliability. While it may seem trivial, it is a practice that all of us at PeakSpan lean into each and every day, not just to ensure the best outcomes for everyone involved in the ScaleUp journey, but to ensure that we are 100% referenceable at the end of any partnership.
