Capturing Lost SaaS Revenue with Optimized Payment Processing

During our time together, Eric & Brian will take a deep dive into the credit card industry and how PeakSpan portfolio companies can reduce cost of acceptance for their SaaS products without switching payment processors.

A few topics that Eric & Brian will cover include:

  • The real cost of payment processing
  • Where the hidden fees are and how you can optimize your system, including those for card-not-present recurring billing
  • Case studies and key areas in RFP review

A veteran of the finance industry, Eric founded Merchant Advocate (website) in 2006. After his extensive experience in the merchant services industry, he was determined to create a fair value proposition and transparency for merchants with their credit card processors. He established Merchant Advocate to act as a trusted advisor on behalf of all sizes and categories of businesses.

Brian is a PeakSpan Sector Expert for Payments and has completed successful engagements with several PeakSpan companies to optimize their payments strategy.

Merchants paid a staggering $160 billion in processing fees last year alone. But what’s even more shocking is that of these businesses, 72% were being overcharged.

Merchant Advocate is a trusted auditing expert in the industry and has saved their clients more than $300 million by optimizing all areas of the processing relationship. Recent successes include a major retailer with 150+ locations—initial discovery uncovered millions of dollars a year in optimization savings—and a 400-location organization where they uncovered hidden fees of more than $1M per year.

While their core business is negotiating lower merchant service costs, Merchant Advocate’s extensive knowledge has led to managing RFP’s, system equipment change-over, special projects, and serving as an advisor. Their proprietary technology provides deep savings, exponential growth, and optimized clout with processors.
